​Take part in this workshop and create a custom light box! ​

 

Inspired by traditional Portuguese tiles, we will explore digital fabrication techniques to create personalized patterns, in wood on acrylic, which we will illuminate with LEDs.  ​

 

The workshop does not require any prior knowledge. Participants will be introduced to the laser cutting process and its possibilities, and will be guided through the process of designing, cutting and assembling the light box, using the patterns they choose. 

 

We will also get our hands dirty  – we have to glue, sand, varnish the wood and electrify the LED lamp. ​

 

An afternoon to sharpen your digital tools and discover the wonderful world of digital manufacturing… and make an illuminated tile to suit everyone’s taste! ​
